Himalaya Refreshing and Clarifying Toner Review
Himalaya Herbals has this alcohol free toner that I always wanted to try and hence picked it up during my Khoobsurati.com Haul! So today, I am going to review the Himalaya Refreshing & Clarifying Toner and tell you how this worked for my oily, acne prone, sensitive skin. So, let me start my review on the Himalaya Herbals Toner...
Price- Rs. 80 for 100 ml.
Composition- Citrus limon (Lemon, Nimbuka) is an effective cleanser, which removes dead skin cells and impurities, leaving your skin supple, smooth and fresh. Lens culinaris (Lentil, Masura) deep cleanses pores and gives your skin back its lost nutrients like protein. Boerhavia Root controls excess oil secretion to leave your skin clear, soft and radiant.
How To Use- After cleaning your face with Himalaya's Refreshing Cleansing Milk, pour a few drops of Gentle Refreshing Toner on a cotton pad and wipe thoroughly over your face and neck.
My Experience with Himalaya Refreshing and Clarifying Toner-
This alcohol free toner comes in a transparent bottle packaging with the trademark green colored Himalaya Herbals, flip-open cap. The toner is colorless, like water and smells good, slightly floral. This refreshing and clarifying toner is very affordable but the cap of this is not so tight. Thus, I face problems if I have to travel with it.
The Himalaya Herbals Refreshing and Clarifying Toner actually cleanses the skin nicely, I mean removes dirt thoroughly but, in-spite of this being herbal, I got breakouts. I know, sounds weird, but this broke me out. After my breakouts healed, I tried to use it again and again, this broke me out. So, for my oily, sensitive, acne prone skin, this did not work that well. Also, this toner is runny in consistency but it is soapy to touch, unlike pure rose water toner. This does nothing for the pores and leaves a slightly oily layer behind that makes my skin super oily in just an hour. Hence, I do not recommend this toner to anyone who has oily or combination or sensitive, acne prone skin. People with dry skin can give it a try! For my skin, this herbal toner was a dud!
PROS-
1) Reasonably Priced
2) Cleansed my skin nicely and removes impurites
3) Fragrance is good
4) Available everywhere
5) Alcohol Free
6) Does not dry out or sting my skin
7) Not tested on animals
CONS-
1) Soapy to touch
2) Not travel friendly
3) Breaks my skin out
4) Makes the skin oily
5) Does not do anything to reduce the appearance of pores
Final Verdict- Overall, my skin did not like this toner much. However, what does not work for me might work for your skin! So, you can give it a try. However, I would recommend those with oily/combination skin type to stay away from this. People with dry skin can give it a shot! This breaks my skin out and thus, I would not repurchase this ever!
Rating- 2/5
