Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo Review

I recently bought this stylish looking shampoo when I saw it lying on the shelf of a store. I knew I had to get this one. I am not a fan of Sunsilk Shampoos and Conditioners and I had a bad experience with a Sunsilk conditioner in the past. Thus, I did not buy the conditioner of this shampoo.

Price- Rs. 56 for 80ml

Claims (From Sunsilk Website):- There is a magic moment between wet & dry hair when your hair looks perfectly straight and beautifully aligned. However, as it dries, it starts to puff up and lose shape. Sunsilk expert Yuko Yamashita has co-created Sunsilk Perfect Straight, the ideal shampoo for straight hair every day. Its breakthrough Straight-Lock technology to actively control and hold every strand perfectly aligned as it dries. It penetrates deep within the hair fiber, reducing frizz and straightening strands, keeping them fully aligned as they dry*. Experience unbeatably straight hair that is shiny, smooth and gorgeous, right from the shower

Straight baal lock karo, rock karo!

*When used with Sunsilk Perfect Straight Conditioner.

Packaging and texture: - The Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo comes in a beautiful purple bottle and I like the way they have written every detail on the packaging. It has a flip open cap and the shampoo is very light pink in color with glitter particles in it. The shampoo is slightly runny.

Honestly, I loved this shampoo a lot. I have been trying it for over a week now and I can confidently say that it is an awesome shampoo. I have tried it with other conditioners, without conditioner and I have used it after oiling and I must say it cleans the scalp properly and lathers a lot (SLS!). Just after repeating once, it removes all oil completely making the hair and scalp super clean. My hair feels really soft, silky, and smooth and almost tangles free after using this and the effect lasts for 2 days on my slightly dry hair. One problem is that it very slightly dries out the scalp. However, a good Conditioner can solve the problem.  Fragrance is lovely too!

Now for the straightening part-, it does make the hair very slightly straight but the effect lasts hardly for 5 hours. Definitely, this cannot serve as a substitute for your straightening iron. I have almost straight hair so I do not care much about the straightening part. However, if you have curly hair then you definitely need a straightening iron. Overall, I liked the shampoo :)

Pros-

1)      Cleans the scalp properly
2)      Makes hair soft
3)      Makes hair silky
4)      Makes hair almost tangle free
5)      Effect is temporary but the softness lasts for 2 days(which is enough for me)
6)      Makes the hair slightly straight
7)      Nice fragrance has been added to it

Cons-

1)      Slightly dries out the scalp( not a problem for me)
2)      Contains a whole lot of chemicals (including SLS)
3)      Cannot replace your Straightening iron

Final Verdict- Go and get if for yourself! If you have oily scalp and hair, you are going to love it. I simply love this one and I think this will replace my Trésemme shampoo now :D
