Fiama Di Wills Gel Bathing Bar Peach and Avocado Review!

Hihi :) How are you all doing? I am at the moment busy shopping and decorating my home- you know Durga Puja is coming....Yee haw! And I am super duper excited....Kolkata is the best place to visit duing the Durga Puja and I am lucky to be staying here in the City Of Joy! Now, lets come straight to the review....Today, I am going to review a "gel bathing bar"- Fiama Di Wills claims that they have frozen shower gel to make a soap...I doubt that, though! Anyways, let me throw some light on the Fiama Di Wills Mild Dew Gel bathing Bar...

Product Description- Fiama Di Wills Gel Bar is hand-crafted using ITC’s innovative Liquid Crystal Freezing technology, which freezes gel into bathing bar. The gel bar contains skin conditioners for ultra rich moisturization. Go ahead, indulge your senses in the never before experience of shower gel in a bar.

Price- Rs. 52 for 125g

My Take On Fiama Di Wills Gel Bathing Bar Mild Dew-

This gel bathing bar comes in a outer carton, which contains another grey colored plastic packet containing the soap. The soap is travel friendly as it does not weigh much and is not that bulky too! So, once I opened the packet, I found a mild orange colored soap with a dent on its bottom. This makes it super easy for you to hold this slippery glycerin based soap. The soap has a tear-drop shape and lathers nicely. Sad, that this gel bathing bar contains SLS. Okay, the SLS thing is not new to me as every other product these days contains this harmful chemical.

The gray colored packet...

This soap glides onto the skin very easily and lathers just like a shower gel would do. This soap smells mildly orange-y and I loved how feminine the fragrance is! The fragrance does not linger onto the skin, though. It cleanses the skin effectively and removes all dirt and oil from this skin. This affordable soap would last you for like 10-15 days, which is all pretty good! It leaves no slippery feel behind onto the skin.

Claims to moisturize the skin- but does nothing of that sort!

Coming to the not so good part now- this soap dries out the skin. Yes, it does and it leaves behind a whitish cast on the skin too. So you definitely have to use a good moisturizer after you use this. So forget about this soap for winters....This soap would only work during the summers! Also, this after a few days, as the soap melts, it breaks up into chunks. So, it becomes difficult to use up the whole soap. However, you can add the chunks onto your loofah and then use it :D Learnt this trick from a blogger friend...

Moving to the Pros and Cons...

PROS-

1) Very Affordable
2) Travel Friendly
3) Lathers nicely
4) Cleanses the skin effectively
5) The dent at the back helps me to hold the soap easily
6) Does not leave behind a slippery feeling
7) Mild orangy Fragrance
8) Lasts for 10-15 days!
9) Great packaging

The dent at the back of the soap...

CONS-

1) Contains SLS
2) Dries out the skin slightly
3) Leaves a whitish cast behind
4) Fragrance does not linger on
5) As the soap gets thinner, it breaks up into small pieces

Glycerin based, gel bathing bar...

Final Verdict- Okay, so if you have dry skin then please avoid using this. Normal skinned beauties, moisturize your skin nicely after using this body soap. Oily and Combination skinned beauties, this is a great soap worth a try! Just remember to use a moisturizer after using this. At this price, I should not be complaining....

Rating- 4/5

  9. I guess the soap if left wet evaporates!! I could use a soap for just three days. Did anybody else had this experience. I plan to reach out consumer court on this. Any suggestions how to approach this?

    1. Haww :O I kept it in a soap dish with a lid and maybe that is why I did not face any such problem :/ Do try keeping it in a closed soap dish :)
