Why use a Silicone Free Shampoo?
Why use a silicone free shampoo?

Recently, I got a few mails from people asking me why I consider silicone as a con in most of my reviews. So, I just thought of summing up the harmful effects of silicone in your products! Here are the Silicone types, Names of Silicones and the benefits and the disadvantages of Silicones along with how to get rid of silicone from your hair...

Most of the hair products contains Ingredients written that end with  "cone" or "ane", for example, "Amodimethicone" or "Dimethicone". Most of the silicones have such names as the shampoo brands would love to trick us to get their products sold! Basically, there are 2 kinds of Silicones, one is soluble in water while the other type of silicones are insoluble in water.

Silicones are known to make your hair very shiny, healthy looking, frizz free, soft, shiny and detangled. This is because what silicones do is that they create a coating on the hair that prevents working of other hair treatments. But they do give you hair that just looks healthy, but in reality, silicones make the hair dull, dry and damaged in the long run. Silicones cause hair damage.

Silicones make hair look temporarily shiny and healthy but damage the hair in the long run...

Advantages of Silicone in your hair-

Silicones do not allow any hair treatments or hair oils to work on your hair!
